THE FLATS - Mike Cassano and former Georgia Tech football standout Saeed Khalif were officially named to the Yellow Jacket football staff, where they will serve as assistant directors of player personnel.

Today will probably be a good day for Lynn and Terri Griffin because almost all days when Mom and her "Little Big Man," are together are great.

That's true not only because her stomach is not tied in knots worrying about her boy attending an out-of-state school (he's home now in Jacksonville), but because, well, her stomach literally IS NOT tied in knots anymore.

Recent surgery addressed that, although it created worry all around.

Dean's List Includes 19 Yellow Jacket Football Players

Nineteen members of the Georgia Tech football team made the Dean's List in the spring semester.

 

Griffin, Hamilton Join Tech Football Staff

THE FLATS - Georgia Tech has added a former college head coach and one of the school's all-time greatest football players to the Yellow Jacket staff.Matt Griffin, who previously served as head football coach at Tennessee-Martin and at Murray State, will serve as director of player personnel. Joe Hamilton, considered one of Tech's greatest players and the runner-up for the 1999 Heisman Trophy, begins his duties as a recruiting assistant with the Yellow Jackets.

 

ACC Announces 2013 Football Bowl Schedule

GREENSBORO, N.C. (ACC Office) -- The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the dates, networks and game times for its 2013 Football Bowl Games. In all, the ACC will have eight guaranteed bowl slots, with one additional conditional contract.

PJ Daniels graduated from Georgia Tech Saturday, yet if you had the astoundingly good fortune of chatting with the erstwhile Yellow Jacket and NFL running back, chances are you would NOT be left with the feeling that was an ending of any sort.

Daniels, whose wondrous 1,447-yard sophomore season in 2003 culminated with a NCAA bowl game-record 307-yard/four touchdown rushing effort against Tulsa in the Humanitarian Bowl, seems ever in continuum.

There was the time when a former Tech assistant coach told Daniels that he was washed up. He responded like Forrest Gump, taking off on a cross-campus run straight into a workout routine that fetched a greater status.

THE FLATS - Sixty-four current and former Georgia Tech student-athletes, managers and trainers are active degree candidates and are registered and eligible to participate in graduation ceremonies later this week.
